Sednterp will interpolate the partial specific volume of proteins from the composition of the protein and its ligands. Optionally, Sednterp will also compute the molecular weight from this also. To have Sednterp perform this interpolation press the compute button in the vbar frame or press the from composition button in the molecular weight frame. The sample composition form will appear on the screen. In this form you may manually type in the composition, read in a sequence file, or paste in a sequence from the clipboard.
Afterwards, press compute to have Sednterp estimate the partial specific volume and compute the molecular weight for this sample. Choose which values you want to return to the program, the partial specific volume (vbar or ), the molecular weight, the hydration estimate (delta 1 or ), or any combination of these three. Then press the OK button to return to the main sample form. Normally, if you are interpreting a sedimentation equilibrium experiment, you do not want to return the molecular weight from composition. Normally, if you are interpreting a sedimentation velocity experiment and know the composition of the sample with some certainty, you do want to return the molecular weight to the program.
